Tiger Moth

The De Havilland Tiger Moth II DH-82 is a 2 seat bi plane introduced in the 1930s as a basic trainer for the RAF.

It was developed from the DH60 Gipsy Moth, with the main differences is the engine is turned upside down and the upper centre section moved forward, to give better access to the front cockpit.

It proved to be one of de havillands most successful aircraft as many thousands were built.

There are several on site at the Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre at Mandeville , for you to get a close up look or even a flight in one.
